JAKARTA - The Ministry of State-Owned Enterprises (BUMN) fully supports the steps taken by the Attorney General's Office (AGO) to uncover cases of alleged corruption in tin trading procedures in the area of PT Timah's Mining Business Permit (IUP).

Special Staff to the Minister of SOEs Arya Mahendra Sinulingga revealed that the Ministry of SOEs and the AGO had long communicated related to allegations of corruption at PT Timah.

"They (AGO) initially saw governance in mining, the great thing was that they mostly worked at Bangka Belitung, so they knew exactly what the situation was going on," he said in an official statement, in Jakarta, Friday, April 5.

With this experience, Arya said the AGO was able to carry out a thorough investigation regarding violations in tin governance.

Furthermore, Arya also appreciated the AGO's steps, which not only targeted one by one cases, but also fully dismantled, including the existence of illegal mining.

"That's what we saw. The AGO doesn't mess around, they come in very systematically. It's very profitable to share, we really support our friends at the AGO," said Arya.

According to Arya, the AGO's move is in line with the SOE cleaning program initiated by SOE Minister Erick Thohir. Arya said that the disclosure of this case would have a big impact on the transformation of PT Timah in improving future performance.

"From the start, we said that when we found out that the AGO wanted to enter for governance issues, we supported everything needed so that it could be as open as it is now," said Arya.
