Bank Indonesia Holds Serambi With 16 Bankings At Istora Senayan

JAKARTA - Bank Indonesia is holding an integrated mobile cash program for the new rupiah currency exchange service ahead of Eid entitled Rupak Rupiah Ramadan and Berkah Idulfitri (SERAMBI) in 2024 to meet the increasing community needs for rupiah worth distribution in National Religious Holidays (HBKN).

This activity is a form of joint synergy between Bank Indonesia and Banking and all stakeholders in order to meet the needs of banking money and the community during the Ramadan and Eid al-Fitr periods in the Istora Senayan area, Thursday, March 28, 2024.

Head of the BI Money Management Department, Marlison Hakim, said that this is the first time that SERAMBI activities have been carried out in an integrated manner together with banks simultaneously in one place from March 28 to March 31, 2024.

"If last year, we and banks did the same thing but at different points, based on evaluation and input, we saw the need for one joint activity at one point, making it easier for people to exchange at one place and we will do it in this istora from March 28, 2024 to March 31, 2024," he explained at the opening Serambi 2024 event, Thursday, March 28, 2024.

Marlison said there were 16 banks who were also present in money exchange service activities through smart applications and every day opened the quota for 5000 people per day.

"However, if our money is still sufficient for people who have not had time to enter smart applications and go show, we will serve it as much as possible as long as the availability of money is still there," he said.

Marlison conveyed that the information circulating on social media in the community regarding the exchange of money given to the public was new money for the needs of Lebaran 2024, and BI had prepared Edar Decent Money (ULE) in all denominations with the 2022 emission year.

"The money we give to the public is new money for the 2022 emission year, so information on social media in the community is not true, for this Eid we want to support the community to share on Eid, so we give new money as a regular culture in society," he explained.

Marlison said BI set the amount of Rupiah currency exchange for Eid 2024 to a maximum of Rp. 4 million compared to the previous year of only Rp. 3.8 million.

"The package is still IDR 4 million, this year we increased IDR 4 million compared to last year's IDR 3.8 million with the hope that the fraction they want can be fulfilled," he concluded.
