This Is The Reason The Government Has Determined BSD As A National Strategic Project

JAKARTA - The Coordinating Ministry for Economic Affairs has opened its voice regarding the reasons for determining the Serpong Damai Integrated Area (BSD) as a national strategic project (PSN) because it will be used as a center for education, biomedical and digital.

"PSN BSD is intended for the advancement of the Digital Biomedical Education sector which is supported by the Ministry of Health," said Spokesperson for the Coordinating Ministry for Economic Affairs Haryo Limanseto in his statement Wednesday, March 27, 2024.

Haryo said that PSN BSD's total investment was Rp. 18.54 trillion, and it is projected to absorb 10,065 workers, so that it would save foreign exchange of Rp. 10.1 trillion, and obtain foreign exchange of Rp. 5.6 trillion.

According to Haryo, there were no political considerations in the appointment of the BSD area to become PSN because the decision to determine PSN was carried out through the results of a complete study and clear parameters.

For information, the Integrated Bumi Serpong Damai (BSD) area is one of the projects developed by the government from 14 new National Strategic Projects (PSN) until mid-March 2024.

The decision was the result of an Internal Meeting chaired directly by the President of the Republic of Indonesia Joko Widodo on Monday, March 18, 2024.

Haryo said, there were 14 PSNs that had just been determined to have gone through a complete study and supported by a Letter of Commitment of the Minister/Head of Institutions, Funding Plans, Study Results, and Action Plans which would then be evaluated with a number of basic criteria, strategic criteria, and operational criteria.

Meanwhile, the determination of 14 PSNs is evenly distributed in eight provinces, namely in the Riau Islands, Banten, DKI Jakarta, West Java, East Java, East Kalimantan, Central Sulawesi, and Southeast Sulawesi. These fourteen PSNs include development in various sectors, consisting of 8 Industrial Estates, 2 Tourism Areas, 2 Toll Roads, 1 Education Area, Research and Technology, Health, and 1 Offshore Migas Project.
