JAKARTA - The Special Task Force for Upstream Oil and Gas Business Activities (SKK Migas) together with the Mubadala Energy (South Andaman) Cooperation Contract Contract Contract Contractor (KKKS) RSC Ltd succeeded in carrying out the Tangkulo-1 Exploration Well Tax on Sunday, March 24, 2024 in the South Andaman Working Area (WK).

The Tangkulo-1 Exploration Well is located at 166 KM northeast of Banda Aceh City and 67 KM North of Lhokseumawe City, Aceh Province.

"The Tangkulo-1 well will be the 2nd exploration well to be drilled by Mubadala Energy at WK South Andaman in 2024, after previously they also carried out the Screen-2 Exploration Well on March 18, 2024," said Head of the SKK Migas Communication and Program Division Hudi D. Suryodipuro to the media quoted Wednesday, March 27.

Hudi explained that the potential for oil and gas reserves in the Andaman area is still quite large.

According to him, exploration activities carried out in the region can provide promising positive opportunities for the oil and gas industry.

"We continue to encourage and oversee KKKS operating in the Andaman Region so that they can realize all their work programs in accordance with the WP&B (Work, Program, & Budget) which has been agreed in 2024," said Hudi.

In the context of achieving oil production targets of 1 million barrels per day (BOPD) and 12 billion standard cubic feet per day (BSCFD) of gas by 2030, exploration activities in the Andaman Region are becoming increasingly vital.

"For that, we hope that the entire well drilling process can run safely, smoothly, and efficiently, so that it can provide optimal results," he concluded.
