Ministry Of Manpower: No Company Has Been Laid Off In Ramadan 2024

The Ministry of Manpower (Kemenaker) revealed that no reports have yet been received regarding the termination of employment or layoffs of employees that occurred during the Ramadan 2024 period.

This was conveyed by the Director General of Industrial Relations and Employment Social Security (PHI-JSK) of the Ministry of Manpower Indah Anggoro Putri after a meeting with Commission IX of the DPR, in Jakarta, Tuesday, March 26.

This was conveyed by Indah in response to the news that a company had laid off before the payment of the Religious Holiday Allowance (THR).

"From the company itself, no one has reported to us that we have laid off this Ramadan season," said Indah.

Instead of layoffs, Indah said that the company or workers actually went to the THR post of the Ministry of Manpower to consult on how to calculate the THR.

"Until today March 26, there have been 320 companies or workers who have come to the post, but they don't complain about not being paid (THR), but consulting on how to calculate the THR," he explained.

"So THR is for workers who have worked for a long time, also for PKWT," he explained.

Meanwhile, the Minister of Manpower Ida Fauziyah requested that companies or employers who do not pay THR to workers must report to the Ministry of Manpower.

He said the report would definitely be followed up.

"Jadi laporan saja, dilaporkan jadi jelas siapa pengusaha yang tidak membayar THR. Adakah ada pengusaha yang melakukan pekerja layoffs sebelum membayar THR. Itu kami berharap kepada pekerja memanfaatkan layanan posko kami," ujar Ida.
