JAKARTA - PT RMK Energy Tbk (RMKE) through its subsidiary PT Royaltama Multi Komoditi Nusantara (RMKN) has officially collaborated with PT Atlas Resources Tbk (ARII) through a subsidiary of PT Gorby Putra Utama (GPU) for coal buying and selling transactions.
The black gold sale and purchase agreement uses the Operational Cooperation (KSO) and offtake mechanisms. ARII is one of the coal producers in Indonesia that owns concession land, which in total reaches an area of more than 200,000 Ha.
RMKE President Director, Vincent Saputra said, coal exploration and production activities were coordinated through 6 hubs, one of which was Hub Mutara.
"The management of the Mutara Hub is carried out by a subsidiary of the Company, one of which is the GPU which owns 4,395 Ha land," Vincent said in a statement to the media, Monday, March 25.
Vincent further added, in this cooperation agreement, RMKE will conduct a sale and purchase transaction on a coal-barge FOB resulting from a coal mining concession area belonging to the GPU in Beringin Makmur 2 Village, Rawas Ilir District, North Musi Rawas Regency, South Sumatra Province.
Coal traded is 600,000 MT or 50,000 MT of coal per month sent via Jetty Sriwijaya Bara Logistics, Pulai Gading Village, Bayung Lencir District, Musi Banyuasin Regency, South Sumatra.
"With this collaboration, RMKE and ARII can improve their operational performance with facilities built by RMKO through investment from the Mulia Kencana Chain," explained Vincent.
Through this collaboration, he continued, RMKE can increase its revenue from the coal sales segment. According to him, a number of strategies have been prepared to achieve this year's target, one of which is collaboration with mining manufacturers in South Sumatra to increase the volume of coal sales in addition to optimizing in-house coal production and good cost control management amid the high rainfall challenges in the first quarter of this year.
