PT Jasa Marga (Persero) Tbk appealed to the public to remain vigilant when traveling the 2024 Eid homecoming flow in April.

The reason is, this momentum will coincide with bad weather conditions that are currently hitting a number of areas in Indonesia, such as thunderstorms, landslides and tornadoes.

"So, Jasa Marga itself continues to monitor and also prepare. Not only by facing long holidays like Lebaran, we also have to meet the minimum service standards (SPM) which we also prepare every month and report to BPJT," said Jasa Marga's Corporate Communication and Community Development Group Head Lisye Octaviana when met at her office, Thursday, March 21.

Lisye said that his party, through Jasa Marga's Tollroad Maintenance subsidiary, will continue to monitor every day on a number of managed toll roads.

"The patrols are not only to ensure that road users are in good condition, but there is also our standby team that continues to monitor if there are points or holes that occur due to extreme weather," he said.

He added that his party will also carry out serious monitoring of toll roads that have the potential to be flooded with water when bad weather hits.

"And if there are potentials for sections that are historically possible there will be puddles, of course it will also be our special concern to continue to prepare if extreme weather or high rainfall arrives," said Lisye.

"Of course, the officers were immediately on standby there and prepared the technical ones to be immediately closed. So, they can ensure the smooth running of the toll road users themselves," he continued.

Furthermore, said Lisye, his party will also increase service operations at a number of toll gates, which can help toll road users fill their electronic balances.

"Jasa Marga will certainly alert all officers and if later there is a vehicle whose balance runs out when making transactions, of course we also continue to prepare it at toll gates and also special substations," he said.

"So, later there will be at certain substations, usually on the right side and also at toll gates. Also at rest areas, we will still prepare officers to be able to add electronic balances," he concluded.

Jasa Marga predicts as many as 1.86 million vehicles will leave Jakarta, Bogor, Tangerang, and Bekasi (Jabotabek). This figure is calculated in the period of the H-7 to D+2 homecoming flow of Eid Al-Fitr 1445 H or during April 3 - April 11, 2024.

Jasa Marga's Corporate Communication & Community Development Group Head Lisye Octaviana said the increase in vehicles on toll roads rose by 54.13 percent compared to normal traffic and rose 5.94 percent from the Eid 2023 period.

"There will be about 1.8 million vehicles leaving the Jabotabek area. We count at Jasa Marga's four main toll gates," he said.
