Jasa Marga Predicts 1.86 Million Vehicles Leave Jabotabek During The 2024 Eid Holiday

JAKARTA - PT Jasa Marga (Persero) Tbk predicts as many as 1.86 million vehicles will leave Jakarta, Bogor, Tangerang, and Bekasi (Jabotabek) during the Eid 2024 holiday period.

Jasa Marga's Corporate Communication & Community Development Group Head Lisye Octaviana said the increase in vehicles on toll roads rose by 54.13 percent compared to normal traffic and rose 5.94 percent from the Eid 2023 period.

"There will be about 1.8 million vehicles leaving the Jabotabek area. We will count at Jasa Marga's four main toll gates," Lisye said at a press conference at Jasa Marga Headquarters, Jakarta, Thursday, March 21.

The four main Jasa Marga toll gates include GT Cikampek Utama and GT Kalihurip Utama (directions to Trans Java and Bandung), GT Ciawi (direction to Puncak) and GT Cikupa (direction to Merak).

Lisye explained that the distribution of traffic (traffic) vehicles leaving the Jabotabek area in that period was the majority heading to the East (Trans Java and Bandung) of 58.4 percent, to the West (Merak) of 22.9 percent and to the South (Puncak) of 18.8 percent.

As for the moment of Eid al-Fitr 2024, Jasa Marga predicts that the peak of the homecoming flow will occur on D-4 Lebaran or Saturday, April 6, 2024, with the traffic spike reaching 259,087 vehicles.
