JAKARTA - PT PLN (Persero) continues to strive to increase electricity supply to industry. Recently, PT Easterntex has switched from using electricity from private power plants to using electricity supplied by PT PLN (Persero) with a capacity of 15 Megawatts (MW).

This step is taken to support efforts to use clean energy in the business processes that the company wants to carry out as well as guaranteeing operational efficiency and reliability of electricity supply from PLN.

PLN President Director Darmawan Prasodjo said the company continues to accelerate its captive power acquisition program so that more business and industrial customers from previously independent and then switch to PLN's cleaner and more affordable reliable electricity.

"The use of PLN electricity is not only able to reduce cost production but also reduce carbon emissions because PLN electricity supplying customers comes from the combined energy mix of renewable new energy plants (EBT) and PLTU Coal-Fired with Ultra Super Critical technology that is more efficient and environmentally friendly," said Darmawan.

General Manager of PLN UID East Java Agus Kuswardoyo said PLN's readiness to meet the needs of the business and industrial sectors in East Java with reliable and environmentally friendly electricity supply. Agus believes that PLN's reliable and cleaner electricity supply is the reason why many business and industrial sectors have started to switch to using PLN electricity.

"This cooperation can be established not only because the readiness of PLN's electricity supply is still very capable but also because the quality of PLN's electricity reliability in East Java is proven to be more reliable and cleaner so as to gain customer confidence," said Agus.

With PLN's reliable electricity supply, he hopes that the company will focus more on increasing its productivity and being able to boost the competitiveness of the country's industry.

Production Director of PT. Easterntex, Yoshiaki Kataoka said, the cooperation in using PLN electricity is an effort by the company to support the acceleration of the Net Zero Emmissions program in 2060.

The main reason for the establishment of cooperation is to reduce emissions and environmental problems. I pray for all companies to contribute to the development of the Indonesian state," concluded Kataoka.
