Check Prices At Anyar Market In Bogor, Minister Of Trade: Chili IDR 60,000 Per Kg, Almost Normal

BOGOR - Minister of Trade (Mendag) Zulkifli Hasan alias Zulhas said that the price of chili had dropped and was almost back to normal. In fact, it has touched Rp. 60,000 per kilogram (kg).

This was conveyed by Zulhas after checking the prices of basic necessities at Anyar Market, Bogor, Monday, March 18.

"But last Friday's chili was IDR 100,000, we only saw it for three days, (now) IDR 60,000 is the price of chili. So it's almost normal," he said

According to Zulhas, the reduction in chili prices at Rp. 60,000 per kg does not make farmers lose.

He considered that there were still profits made by farmers.

"Because if it's below Rp. 60,000, especially since the Rp. 30,000 is closed, the farmers are bankrupt. So if there is still Rp. 60,000, there is still profit," he explained.

Previously, the price and availability of a number of commodities at Kramat Jati Market, East Jakarta. He said, there was an increase in prices for chili commodities, some even had a price of Rp. 100,000 per kg.

Earlier we saw a lot, lots of chickens, lots of eggs, lots of rice, lots of oil, a lot of flour, a lot of sugar. Indeed, some have increased prices, chilies. Yesterday, said the mother, there was Rp. 70,000 per kg but today there is Rp. 100,000, "he said at Kramat Jati Market, East Jakarta, Friday, March 15.

Although the price tends to rise, the man who is familiarly called Zulhas explained that the supply is abundant.

"But the goods (cabai) are (on the market)," he said.

Zulhas also explained the cause of the increase in chili prices. He said the weather factor was one of the influencing factors.

Chili if it rains like this, the harvest fails. If it rains heavily, the harvest fails, the chilies rot, right," he explained.
