1,514 PLN Personnel Standby To Maintain Electricity Reliability In West Kalimantan During Fasting

PONTIANAK - General Manager of PLN Main Distribution Unit (UID) West Kalimantan (Kalbar) Joice Lanny Wantania said there were 1,514 personnel on standby to maintain electrical reliability during fasting and Eid al-Fitr 1445 Hijriah.

"We have alerted 1,514 personnel to strategic locations spread across the West Kalimantan region. We are trying to make no electricity out during Ramadan until Eid al-Fitr later, so that people can carry out worship without any electrical disturbances so that family gatherings are peaceful and comfortable," said Joy, quoted from ANTARA, Tuesday, March 12.

He explained, in addition to the personnel on standby, PLN UID West Kalimantan also ensured that the generating system, transmission and supporting equipment were prepared in a reliable condition.

"The current electrical condition is in a safe condition with a capable capacity of 567 MW and a peak load of 445 MW and a reserve of 122 MW. PLN ensures that electricity supply will always be safe and reliable during the holy month of Ramadan until Eid al-Fitr 1445 H/2024," said Joice.

Then in terms of supporting electrical equipment, 1 unit of Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) has been prepared, 14 units of Mobile Substations (UGB), 58 units of Generator Sets (Gensets), and 1 crane.

He also advised that electricity supply be safe and smooth without disturbances, urging the public not to play kites using wire ropes and play near the PLN electricity grid, because it could potentially cause power outages and damage to other electrical installations.

"If there is a power failure, the repair and recovery process will take quite a long time, thus disrupting the comfort and security of the community in this month of Ramadan.
