This Is The Continuation Of The Discovery Of Gas In Andaman By Mubadala Energy

JAKARTA - Representative of SKK Migas for North Sumatra (Sumbagut) Rikky Rahmat Firdaus provided the latest news regarding the continuation of the findings of giant gas reserves in Aceh waters by the oil and gas giant from the United Arab Emirates, Mubadala Energy.

Rikky said that upstream oil and gas activities carried out in Andaman waters are still in the exploration stage.

"KKKS Mubadala Energy and Harbor Energy are currently in the exploration stage and have drilled exploration (exploration drilling)," Rikky said in a statement to the media, Monday, March 11.

Rikky added that his party hopes that the results of the study from the drilling will have good economic value, so that it can be developed and produced in line with the government's 2030 lifting target, namely oil production of 1 million barrels per day (BPH) and natural gas of 12 billion cubic feet per day (MMSCFD) standards.

Previously, Specialist Business Process Improvement, Risk Management and Audit Mubadala Energy Zeena Rimba stated, his party invested hundreds of millions of US dollars to explore the Andaman area.

In the area, precisely on Screen-1 WK South Andaman which is about 100 kilometers from the northern coast of Sumatra, Mubadala Energy found gas potential of more than six trillion cubic feet.

The discovery, which was announced at the end of 2023, is considered to exceed the potential for gas in the North 1 Gang well, Kutai basin, and is in the top three of the world.

The Screen 1 well is the first deep sea well to be operated and drilled up to a depth of 4,208 meters at sea water depth of 1,207 meters.

"In Indonesia, we operate four blocks, namely Sebuku, Andaman I, South Andaman and Andaman II. In the process, we never felt 'loss time incident' (losing time due to accidents)," said Zeena.
