LAMPUNG - Head of Bank Indonesia (BI) Lampung Representative Junanto Herdiawan said that Tulangbawang Regency is an area that pioneers the implementation of digitalization of retribution payments (e-Retribution) in traditional markets in Lampung Province.

"This Tulangbawang Regency has become a pioneer in Lampung Province in an effort to digitize retribution payments in traditional markets electronically," said Junanto Herdiawan as quoted by ANTARA, Tuesday, March 5.

He said the digitization of retribution payments in traditional markets was carried out as an effort to optimize local revenue (PAD).

"The digital retribution payment is carried out through the application of the digital electronic retribution system (SIGER). The application is the result of the collaboration between the Tulangbawang Regency Government and Bank Mandiri," he said again.

He also appreciated the innovative steps in increasing local revenue by utilizing technology through digitalizing payments.

"This step needs to be appreciated because apart from being innovative in increasing local revenue, it has also strengthened digitalization in regional transactions," he also said.

According to him, the payment of levies through the SIGER application in addition to providing benefits to local governments is also beneficial for market traders to facilitate transactions.

"For market traders, the payment of levies through SIGER makes it easier for them, as well as building trust in local governments. Meanwhile, the acceptance of digital payment channels through QRIS is getting wider," he said again.

The acceptance of digital payments through the Quick Response Code Indonesian Standard (QRIS) in Unit II Market, Tulangbawang Regency, has been used by 700 traders.

He continued, BI continues to be committed to encouraging and supporting local governments in implementing various work programs that encourage the acceleration and expansion of regional digitization.

"The implementation of this e-Retribution is carried out by optimizing digital payment channels through electronic money and in its development it will use QRIS. This SIGER is also equipped with a monitoring feature in the form of website-based online dashboards that can be accessed by the local district government to monitor regional income directly," he concluded.
