BISKITA Trans Bekasi Officially Operates, Integrated Jabodebek LRT

Minister of Transportation Budi Karya Sumadi said the presence of BISKITA Trans Bekasi could optimize mass public transportation in Bekasi City because it was integrated with other mass public transportation, namely the Jabodebek LRT and the Electric Rail Train (KRL).

This was conveyed by Budi after inaugurating the operation of the Trans Bekasi Patriot BISKITA, at the BTS Mall Summarecon Bus Stop, Bekasi, Sunday, March 3.

For your information, BISKITA Trans Bekasi Patriot is a mass public transportation service with a service purchase scheme (Buy The Service) in Bekasi City, which is integrated with the Jabodebek LRT.

Currently, BISKITA Trans Bekasi Patriot serves one corridor, namely Summarecon Bekasi-Vida Bantar Gebang via Revo Mall (West Bekasi LRT Station). In the future, there are planned to be a total of four BISKITA Trans Bekasi Patriot corridors.

"We hope that people who previously took private cars move to urban mass public transportation so that there is no traffic jams, there is no pollution. Those who travel to offices in Jakarta are also fresh, not stressed and also tired," he said in an official statement, Sunday, March 3.

Budi said President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) had stated that urban mass public transportation was a must. The reason is, the loss due to the absence or absence of mass transportation is hundreds of trillions.

"Therefore, the government initiated MRT, LRT, Fast Train, and then as supporters of BTS and feeders that must be done," said Budi.

For your information, the inauguration of BISKITA Trans Bekasi Patriot is one of the stimulants for the development of road-based mass public transportation through the Buy The Service (BTS) scheme.

The scheme is carried out by buying public transportation services that meet minimum service standards starting from aspects of comfort, security, safety, affordability, and equality.

Bekasi itself is the 12th city that has implemented BTS services. Other cities that have already implemented BTS include Bogor, Palembang, Medan, Bali, Solo, Yogyakarta, Makassar, Banyumas, Banjarmasin, Bandung and Surabaya.
