The Ministry of Manpower in conjunction with Soekarno-Hatta Immigration succeeded in thwarting the departure of eight prospective illegal migrant workers to Qatar and the United Arab Emirates (UAE).

Director General of Binwasnaker and K3, Haiyani Rumondang said that the eight prospective migrant workers were about to depart through Soekarno-Hatta International Airport, Tangerang, Saturday, March 2.

8 prospective migrant workers who will be placed non-procedurally, they consist of 1 person who will be dispatched to Qatar, and 7 others will be placed in Dubai, UAE, "he said in an official statement, Sunday, March 3.

Haiyani also appealed to people who want to work abroad to choose the procedural route. He emphasized that if you go through a procedural route, the community will get certainty of protection.

"We again invite all parties to realize the placement of Indonesian migrant workers who are procedural, professional, and dignified for the common good," said Haiyani.

Meanwhile, the Director of Binariksa of the Ministry of Manpower, Yuli Adiratna, said that the eight prospective migrant workers came from Karawang as many as three people, Cianjur two people, Indramayu one person, Serang one person, and NTB one person.

Furthermore, Yuli said they would initially be dispatched using the Srilankan Airlines UL365 aircraft at 14.25 WIB which transited Colombo and forwarded to Doha or Dubai.

"Based on information from prospective migrant workers who have been prevented from leaving, not only 8 non-procedural cpmi will depart on the flight. However, there are still quite a number of prospective migrant workers who have escaped and are still departing," said Yuli.

Yuli continued that two prospective migrant workers admitted that they were dispatched by a company with the initials A, where currently there are still many prospective migrant workers at the PT shelter.

"Furthermore, the Soekarno-Hatta Airport Immigration Party will make a Police Report (LP) to the Soekarno-Hatta Airport Police for further action," he said.
