Jokowi Groundbreaking 5th In IKN, From The Financial Sector To Pede 10 Years As A City Of Life

JAKARTA - President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) has inaugurated the groundbreaking or the fifth phase of groundbreaking in the capital city of Nusantara (IKN) on Thursday-Friday or February 29 to March 1.

The fifth phase of the groundbreaking is focused on the banking and financial sectors such as the Bank Mandiri, BRI, BNI projects to the BPJS Health office.

The groundbreaking for the 5th IKN on the first day is the financial center. In addition, in addition to the inauguration, Jokowi also provided the latest updates from IKN.

Summarizing Jokowi's activities on Thursday, February 29, here are important events during the groundbreaking of the 5th IKN on the first day:

1. Jokowi Starts Groundbreaking Financial Cluster

On the first day, Jokowi inaugurated the groundbreaking of three state-owned banks, namely PT Bank Mandiri (Persero) Tbk (BMRI) to PT Bank Rakyat Indonesia (Persero) Tbk (BBRI).

When giving his speech, Jokowi also appreciated Bank Mandiri as one of the banks that built an office with the concept of Digital Services that can serve the community.

"I am happy that Bank Mandiri will soon begin the construction of a special office for Digital Services, because I know Livin' by Mandiri is already 23 million (users), very big," he said.

On the same occasion, Jokowi also inaugurated the BRI International Microfinance Center groundbreaking which was built on an area of 13,000 square meters. The plan is to consist of BRI Office Nusantara, BRI Microfinance Gallery to BRI Community Hub.

BRI Office Nusantara will be built on 8 floors in which there are Lobby, Priority Lounge, Office Area, Multifunction Hall and BRI Microfinance Gallery which functions as a gallery for MSMEs and BRI Community Hubs which will function as ampitheaters for event gatherings and outdoor exhibitions. Later, each building will be equipped with a rooftop.

2. Minister Of PUPR Will Have An Office In IKN In July

After inaugurating the groundbreaking of the banking sector, Jokowi said that the Minister of PUPR Basuki Hadimuljono would have an office in July 2024.

Likewise, the gradual transfer of the State Civil Apparatus (ASN) will be followed. The government is also preparing in advance various supporting facilities for ASN in IKN, such as houses, schools and hospitals.

"This ASN will be moved gradually, because we have to prepare supporting facilities such as housing, which is most important. Then, schools for his children who move here, hospitals, if anyone is sick, for example," he said.

3. Jokowi Has An Office At IKN After The Airport And Toll Roads Are Completed

Not only the Minister of PUPR who was questioned when he was based in IKN, but the Head of State was also questioned about his determination to work in the New Capital City.

However, different from the Minister of PUPR, Jokowi admitted that he would have an office in IKN waiting for the infrastructure and travel facilities to be completed.

"Pak Basuki July. I'm waiting for the airport so, the toll road will be finished. If the toll road is finished, the airport will be finished," he said.

4. Readiness of the August 17 Ceremony at IKN this year

On the sidelines of the interview, he was also asked to update the August 17 Ceremony at IKN. According to Jokowi, his readiness is almost final.

According to him, the plan did not encounter any problems because the physical development of IKN continues to this day.

"There is no problem, so there is no physical problem to this day," he said.

Furthermore, Jokowi assessed that his party had planned a ceremony at IKN in detail since January. For example, regarding the capacity of participants to the composition of the event.

"Then, the event has been designed, how much capacity, what is the event in detail in January, it's almost final," he explained.

5. Jokowi Predicts that in 10 Years IKN will become a City of Life

With the construction of a number of supporting facilities, Jokowi believes it will only take 10 years to make IKN a living city. During that period, he said, IKN will be inhabited by many people.

"But as I said earlier, we estimate that in 10 years this city will become a living city inhabited by many people," he added.
