After Vale's Divestment, Erick Thohir Will Pursue This Cooperation

JAKARTA - Minister of State-Owned Enterprises (BUMN) Erick Thohir admitted that he would catch up faster with Vale Indonesia after the divestment agreement of 14 percent of the shares was completed. This step aims to accelerate the downstream process and utilization of the products produced.

Erick also revealed a number of car trademarks that will cooperate with Vale. For example, plans for cooperation with Volkswagen (VW) to Ford.

Furthermore, Erick said that the cooperation with the European car manufacturer will be boosted.

"We are chasing their deadline partnership first. They have Volkswagen, there is Ford, now that's when," he said when he was met in Central Jakarta, Monday, February 26.

In the context of Indonesian nickel, Erick also gave an example of the cooperation that has been built with CATL, a company from China.

However, continued Erick, what is currently being highlighted is the collaboration with LG, a company from South Korea, which has not been realized.

"Well, we are pursuing it. We are accelerating this first. We are happy that if they (Vale) have (cooperation with) Ford, Volkswagen, it is said to be a balance. We are indeed open market and we are a non-alignment country, right. We are the most important thing. friendly to invest," he said.

Previously, it was reported that the Minister of State-Owned Enterprises (BUMN), Erick Thohir, confirmed that the signing of the release or divestment of 14 percent of PT Vale Indonesia Tbk's (INCO) shares to MIND ID would be carried out this afternoon.

Furthermore, Erick said, both parties have agreed on a share divestment price since last week. However, the signing will only officially take place this afternoon.

"The deal was last week, the signature was today. If the deal has not yet been signed, it is not black and white, now it has been proven," said Erick when met in the Central Jakarta area, Monday, February 26.
