Trenggono Implements 5 Blue Economy Policies To Realize Indonesia Gold 2045

JAKARTA - Minister of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries (KP) Sakti Wahyu Trenggono emphasized the importance of implementing five (5) blue economy policies. According to him, the implementation of the blue economy is important to encourage the realization of Indonesia Gold 2045 with a healthy sea.

The five blue economy policies include an increase in the area of marine conservation; measured fishing based on quota; sustainable development of marine, coastal and land cultivation; management and supervision of coastal areas and small islands; as well as management of plastic waste in the sea through fishing participation movements.

"Five blue economic programs are part of the KKP's efforts to realize Indonesia Gold in 2045 through the marine and fisheries sector," Trenggono was quoted as saying on the KKP's official website, Wednesday, February 21.

According to Trenggono, the implementation of the blue economy policy will vary for each region. However, the goal is clear so that maritime governance in Indonesia will be better.

"The way our arrests are civilized and become heroes in the field of fisheries. We can contribute to the economy, especially in the fishery cultivation sector and we manage the sea with better governance," he said.

In addition, Trenggono also revealed other examples related to fishing intervention in Indonesia through the formation of modern fishing villages so that Indonesian marine products can be accepted by the international market through good fishing methods.

"This is what makes us a model, which is called a modern fishing village. We have prepared all the facilities there. We also provide ships and fishing gear. However, the next test is how this fishing community can unite in groups and the government can provide fishing gear and ships with a somewhat more modern one. So that we can be more accepted by the international market that our way of arresting is good," he said.

Not only that, Trenggono also emphasized that he would evaluate the implementation of blue economy policies. One of them is through the Legal Forum which is being carried out. The hope is that this evaluation can provide a more comprehensive understanding for the community.

"Are the regulations that we will run, especially the 5 big regulations, complete or not? If not, I ask that it be prepared and then it can be submitted to the community by providing a more comprehensive understanding to the community," he said.

"One example is modeling, for example, how we produce good cultivation. Then, the former pond cultivation area is damaged because of the traditional way we change the commodity. Then, we build a modern fishing village so that fishermen should be prosperous, we make the facilities modern," he added.
