PLN Targets People To Be Able To Exchange Electric Vehicle Batteries At Minimarkets

PT PLN (Persero) plans to expand the electric vehicle ecosystem by cooperating with minimarkets as a place to exchange electric motorcycle batteries.

PLN President Director Darmawan Prasodjo said, apart from building Public Electric Vehicle Charging Stations (SPKLU), his party also made it easier for people who want to exchange their motorcycle batteries in several minimarkets such as Alfamart and Indomaret.

"So later our thoughts will be on Indomaret, Alfamart, Superindo outlets, then other things, there is a battery swap that can be used by all motorcycle brands," said Darmawan, Thursday, February 15.

To do this, Darmawan said that his party was standardizing batteries so that they could be used by all motorized vehicle brands.

"This means that it will make it easier in the future for electric motorcycle users to buy any brand but the battery can be on one another," added Darmawan.

Darmawan said, in addition to making minimarkets a battery exchange place, PLN will also use electric poles as a place to charge electric vehicles. Thus, more and more people are made easier when using electric vehicles.

Just so you know, PLN EYE or SPKLU with a pole mounted charger type is an innovation to present an EV Charger by utilizing the PLN power pole. The existence of this EV Charging is expected to reach all electric vehicle users who want to recharge their vehicle batteries.

PLN Enjiniring President Director, Chairani Rachmatullah said there were already three SPKLU EYE prototypes installed and have been operating.

"The distribution is, two at the West Jakarta KS Tubun PLN Office, and one at the Yasporbi Bidakara Elementary School (SD), South Jakarta," he explained.

Currently, he continued, there are two types of SPKLU capacity PLN EYE, namely 7 kilo Watt (kW) and 22 kW designed by PLN Enjiniring for Pole Mounted Charger, both those that are modeled to stick outside (concrete electricity columners) and models to enter the poles (iron pillars).

"Furthermore, an assessment and repairs will be carried out so that in the future it will be standardized for all SPKLU Pole Mounted Charging," he said.

Chairiani also said that thanks to digital transformation, it was easier for PLN SPKLU to be found with the help of PLN Mobile SuperApp. EV users simply open the PLN Mobile application in the electric vehicle menu, so automatically the existence of the nearby PLN SPKLU will be found.
