Airlangga Hopes That The 2024 Election Will Run Honest And Fair

JAKARTA - Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs and General Chair of the Golkar Party (Golongan Karya) Airlangga Hartarto hopes that the 2024 general election will run safely, peacefully and in an orderly manner. As well as the vote calculation is expected to run smoothly.

"I have agreed and have been given a sign. Of course, I hope that today the election will run safely, peacefully, in an orderly manner, and the calculation is expected to run smoothly and the election will be honest and fair," he said after voting in Jakarta Wednesday, February 14, 2024.

According to Airlangga, the current democratic party shows the world that Indonesia is one of the largest countries in conducting general elections because it can run safely and peacefully.

"This shows the world, Indonesia is a big country, in celebration of democracy it runs in an orderly and safe manner. If there is a difference it is a normal thing and we solve it with an election mechanism," he said.

Airlangga is optimistic that the general election will run one round because the various surveys conducted show the pair of candidates for President and Vice President Prabowo-Gibran in one round.

However, Airlangga also reminded that the results of the new victory will be determined from the election box, so it is hoped that the public can wait for the official election results.

"(One round), God willing, we will wait for today. From various surveys before the election, once the round is visible. But, once again, that the vote is determined in the election box. So we are waiting for the election results. And also, because there is a presidential election, legislative election, dpd, so people are expected to wait for official results. This means that the official results will determine the election results. So be patient," he said.

Airlangga added that in monitoring the vote count, it will be carried out in two places, namely Djakarta Theater and Istora Senayan.

"Observe the calculation, there will be two places prepared at the Jakarta Theater, and at Istora. I will be present between the two places," he concluded.
