Throughout 2023, Pegadaian Records Digital Pawn Transaction Volume Increases To IDR 14.54 Trillion

PT Pegadaian noted that the volume of digital pawn transactions reached IDR 14.54 trillion in 2023.

President Director of PT Pegadaian Damar Latri Setiawan said that this number marked a significant growth in the adoption of digital pawn services. Especially, in the midst of ongoing digital transformation.

"The number of users of the Digital Pegadaian application as of December 31, 2023 is now 6.5 million (14 percent yoy) users, and the transaction volume is up to IDR 14.54 trillion (72 percent yoy)," said Damar.

He said that with the increasing public trust in using digital platforms for pawning needs, Pegadaian has succeeded in expanding its service reach and increasing the efficiency of the transaction process as a whole.

Pegadaian, said Damar again, through digital platforms brings unlimited convenience to customers. With digital savings, now all financial needs can be met easily.

He said customer digital savings can buy gold today too, to save for the future. All of this can be done practically. In fact, customers also have the flexibility to score gold, make planned savings, or choose other savings programs such as plus gold savings.

Even with this digital Pegadaian, customers can redeem, ask for more, want to pay in installments, want to change gold savings through PDS. Then want to buy credit, pay for electricity, water, BPJS, that can be done," said Damar again.

The Pegadaian Digital Service (PDS) application, Damar explained, is a digital service in order to make it easier for customers and prospective customers without having to come to Pegadaian outlets.

"Talking about digital pawnshops, Pegadaian is 123 years old but we have the most advanced technology standards, following in digital footsteps," Damar said.

Previously, PT Pegadaian generally recorded positive performance in the last year by printing a net profit of IDR 4.38 trillion throughout 2023. This achievement grew 32.7 percent compared to 2022 of IDR 3.30 trillion.

Pegadaian also stated that the number of Pegadaian customers until December 31, 2023 was recorded at 24 million. Meanwhile, in terms of assets, it reached IDR 82.6 trillion in 2023.

"In 2023, Pegadaian turnover will rise again to IDR 205.2 trillion. We grew 14.2 percent yoy," said Damar again.
