There Is A 2024 General Election, Bahlil: No Adjustments For Investment Targets In IDR 1,650 Trillion

JAKARTA - Investment Minister/Head of BKPM Bahlil Lahadalia said there was no adjustment to the investment target this year, despite the 2024 general election democracy party (Pemilu). He said the target set remained at Rp1,650 trillion.

Bahlil also admitted that he was optimistic that the investment target set by President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) could be achieved even in the midst of the 2024 election turmoil.

"Once there is an order from the President, the target is IDR 1,650 trillion this year, so I and the DPMPTSP team (One Stop Investment and Integrated Service Office), after yesterday's coordination meeting they said they would remain, not adjust the target," he said at a press conference, at the Ministry of Investment Office, written Thursday, January 25.

Therefore, Bahlil said that the political dynamics of this election year must be maintained. The reason is, to achieve the investment target this year requires support for stable political conditions.

"There is only one condition, in this election, don't slander, don't bring down our country too much so that it is stable," he explained.

The reason, continued Bahlil, is that in this election year many investors tend to wait or wait and see before investing in Indonesia.

"Now we have a wait and see in 2024 because we are in the election," he said.

The former Chairperson of Hipmi also advised that the 2024 General Election would not cause unrest for the community, especially entrepreneurs.

Therefore, he asked the presidential candidates (candidates) and vice presidential candidates (cawapres) to advance in the content of this five-year democratic party to be able to convey ideas according to the correct data.

"My advice is that this election can be hot, but don't be too hot, especially in submitting data. Don't mislead the people in submitting data," he said.
