Cak Imin Attacked About Carbon Tax, This Is Gibran's Answer

Vice Presidential Candidate (Cawapres) number 02, Gibran Rakabuming Raka received an attack from Vice President 01 Muhaimin Iskandar Cak Imin's eyebrows about the carbon tax. He said the government was not serious about implementing a carbon tax.

"The government has postponed the implementation of the carbon tax today, from 2022 to 2025. What do you want to continue with? Strictly, the implementation of the carbon tax must be carried out as quickly as possible, as well as the renewable energy transition being carried out," said Imin in the fourth vice presidential debate, quoted from the Indonesian KPU YouTube, Sunday, January 21.

Cak Imin's statement responded to Gibran when answering panelist questions about the development of low-carbon justice.

Previously, Gibran said that talking about carbon issues should also allude to the problem of carbon, carbon storage and carbon capture taxes. He said, the future agenda must certainly push the side towards green energy, and should no longer depend on fossil energy.

"We continue to encourage green energy based on plant-based raw materials, as I said earlier bio-ethenol, bio-avtur, bio-diesel has now been proven by the presence of B35 and B40. This has been able to reduce the value of our oil imports, increase the added value of domestic palm oil production and is also more environmentally friendly," Gibran replied.

Gibran also emphasized that the current challenge is to find a balance point or a midpoint to boost the downstream industry.

"But we are also obliged to preserve the environment, we want to increase the productivity of farmers and also the maritime sector, but we are also obliged to maintain a natural balance," said Gibran.
