Entering 11th Age, GIS Is Committed To Strengthen Innovation & Collaboration To Create Excellence

JAKARTA - The 11-year journey of transformation has brought PT Semen Indonesia (Persero) Tbk (SIG) to show its capabilities as a state-owned enterprise and leader of the building materials industry in Indonesia.

As a holding company that manages producers of well-known building solutions and materials, SIG continues to create added value that leads to recognition and appreciation from governments and other institutions at the national and international levels.

Speaking from the GIS Head Office in South Quarter, Jakarta, GIS President Director Donny Arsal underlined the conditions of the cement market in the future which are still very challenging.

"Entering this 11th age, marks a new period in the journey of the Company's transformation in 2024. As a market leader, SIG has the ambition to move to the next level with an extraordinary spirit in synergy, collaboration, as well as increased insight and expertise to maintain dominance both domestically and regionally," said Donny, in his statement, Wednesday, January 10.

Donny Arsal added that the theme 'Strive The Extra Miles' is a reflection of the enthusiasm of all management and employees, to improve competence and excellence through ideas, initiatives, and strategic plans implemented through new (innovative) ways in synergy and collaboration, so that they can go further and win competition.

"SIG managed to get through 2023 in industrial conditions that are still under pressure to increase commodity prices, energy and inflation costs, as well as such intense market competition. However, thanks to the synergy, optimization and sustainable efficiency programs, GIS was able to overcome it with positive performance. We will continue this positive performance in 2024 by increasing the Company's durability and competitiveness to continue to provide optimal benefits for shareholders, customers and stakeholders, as well as contributing to sustainable development," said Donny Arsal.

In line with Donny Arsal, SIG President Commissioner Budi Waseso also invited management and all employees to continue the spirit of innovation and synergy, so that GIS is always ready to face every challenge and always be at the forefront.

"Our challenge in the future is not easy. Therefore, we must innovate, synergize and continue to be enthusiastic about building a GIS for Indonesia," said Budi Waseso.

In a series of celebrations of the 11th Anniversary, SIG gave the awarding of the SIG Group Innovation Awards for innovating employees, as well as other activities such as the GIS XTRAMILES Photo Competition which was opened to the public. The Company also provides the Work Loyalty Award to 361 employees as an appreciation for the service period of employees who have worked 10 years, 15 years, 20 years and 30 years.
