JAKARTA - The Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) has confirmed that it does not yet have a plan or discussion regarding changes in the retail price of 3 kg LPG or subsidized LPG.

This was conveyed by the Director General of Oil and Gas (Dirjen Migas) of the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources Tutuka Ariadji at a press conference at the Office of the Directorate General of Oil and Gas, Wednesday, January 3.

"When it comes to prices (selling retail LPG 3 kg), the current government has no discourse to talk about the price," said Tutuka.

For your information, the price of 3 kg LPG at the distribution or agent level is determined based on the Ministerial Regulation (Permen) of Energy and Mineral Resources Number 28 of 2008 and Decree of the Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Number 7436.K/12/MEM/2016.

Meanwhile, the price of 3 kg LPG at the base or sub-distributor level is determined based on the local government's Highest Retail Price (HET)

Meanwhile, the selling price of 3 kg LPG retail is set at IDR 4,250 per kg or IDR 12,750 per cylinder in accordance with Presidential Regulation (Perpres) Number 104 of 2007, Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Regulation Number 28 of 2008 and Decree of the Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Number 7436.K/12/MEM/2016.

Previously, it was reported that starting at the beginning of this year or January 1, 2024, the government decided that only registered people could buy 3 kg LPG. Therefore, people who fall into the category of 3 kg LPG recipients are required to register first at the bases.

Director General of Oil and Gas (Migas) Tutuka Ariadji said the step to require registered buyers with ID cards and families is the government's effort to realize the transformation of the distribution of 3 kg LPG on target.

Therefore, Tutuka appealed to people who have not been registered to register immediately before purchasing 3 kg LPG.

For those who have not registered, cannot buy, except register first. So you have to register first, there is a registration process. We are still open, register first and then you can buy it," said Tutuka.
