Rizal Ramli's Figure In The Eyes Of Friends, Considered A Cemerlang Economist And A Gigih Activist

JAKARTA - Former Minister of Finance (Menkeu) Chatib Basri expressed his condolences for the death of senior economist Rizal Ramli.

"Innalillahi wa innailaihi rojiun. My condolences for the death of my senior Dr. Rizal Ramli," he wrote in the tweet of the X (Twitter) account.

Chatib Basri admitted that he had known Rizal Ramli since the student era and the former Minister of the Economy was a brilliant economist and a persistent activist.

"When I was in the government the criticism was not scathing. But I know it is needed for a better Indonesia. Goodbye Bang Rizal. Big loss to Indonesia," he said.

Furthermore, former KPK investigator Yudhi Purnomo Harahap also expressed his sorrow.

"Innalillahi wa innailaihi rojiun, goodbye Mr. Rizal Ramli, Indonesia is grieving," he wrote in his X account.

Former Secretary of the Ministry of SOEs Said Didu also expressed his condolences for the death of Rizal Ramli through his upload on social media X.

"Innalillahi wa inna ilaihi rojiun. In the haram Mosque, we found shocking news that Dr. Rizal Ramli died at Jkt at 19.30 WIB, You were sincere in fighting until the end of our lives. During covid we continued to discuss. Goodbye Bang RR-perjuanganmu we will continue. Alfatihah," said Said Didu.

In addition, the Indonesian Ambassador to Kazakhstan and Tajikistan, Fadjroel Rachman, expressed his condolences for the death of the former Minister of Finance in the era of President Abdurrahman Wahid.

"I testify, Bung is a good person. We ITB activists are deeply saddened," wrote Fadjroel Rachman.

Previously reported, former Coordinating Minister (Menko) for Maritime Affairs Rizal Ramli died at Cipto Mangunkusumo Hospital (RSCM) Jakarta at 19.30 WIB, Tuesday, January 2, 2024,

Rizal Ramli left three children, namely Dhitta Puti Sarasvati Ramli, Dipo Satria Ramli, and Daisy Orlana Ramli.

In addition, the deceased also left two grandchildren, namely Anabel Asmara Ramli and Anakin Lazuardi Ramli.

"Innalillahi wa inna ilaihi rojiun. We have passed away, our father/in-law, Rizal Ramli, on January 2, 2024 at 19.30 WIB at Cipto Mangunkusumo Hospital. We all family apologize if there was any mistake in his life," said the family.
