Task Force Must Block 22 Illegal Investments And 337 Illegal Loans

The Financial Services Authority (OJK) Task Force for the Eradication of Illegal Financial Activities (Satgas Pasti) in the November 2023 period blocked 22 entities that made illegal investment offers or financial activities and 337 illegal online loans (pinjol).

"This effort will continue to be carried out to further suppress the illegal 'online' loan ecosystem in Indonesia," said Secretary of the Task Force Pasti OJK Hudiyanto as reported by ANTARA, Saturday, December 30.

A total of 22 entities that make investment offers or illegal financial activities consist of 12 entities conducting part-time job offers with a deposit system.

In addition, seven investment offering entities without a permit, two entities trading crypto assets without a license and one financial records entity without a permit.

In addition, in the same period, the Task Force must block 288 content related to personal loans (pinpri) that has the potential to violate the provisions of personal data confidentiality.

Thus, from 2017 to 2023 the Task Force has suspended 8,149 illegal financial entities consisting of 1,218 illegal investments, 6,680 illegal online loans and private loans, and 251 illegal pawning entities.

Hudiyanto said the Task Force must also find 38 bank accounts or virtual accounts reported by the public related to illegal online or online loan activities.

For this reason, the Task Force has submitted a blocking of the intended account to the bank supervisory work unit in OJK to then order the bank to block it.

The PASTI Task Force reminds the public to always be careful, alert and not use illegal online loans or personal loans because they have the potential to harm the public, including the risk of misuse of personal data.

Eradication of investment and illegal entities requires participation from the community. The community is expected to always ensure the legality aspect of a product and pay attention to the reasonable level of the promised results.
