BKPM: Chinese Investment In South Kalimantan Supports Economic Growth

JAKARTA - Deputy for Investment Services of the Ministry of Investment/BKPM Achmad Idrus said that Qinfa group investment through PT Resources Energi (SDE) is a strategic program for national economic growth.

"Thank you for choosing Indonesia as an investment destination, especially in South Kalimantan, this is important and strategic in order to grow the national economy, especially the realization of investment in 2024," said Idrus at the inauguration of the first underground coal mine to be held in Kotabaru, South Kalimantan, quoted from Antara, Monday 18 December.

Qinfa Group merupakan perusahaan asal Tiongkok yang berafiliasi dengan PT SDE. Perusahaan itu hingga 2023 telah mengucurkan dana sebesar 300 juta dolar AS pada proyek tambang batu bara bawah tanah sejak tahap konstruksi pada 2021.Kucuran investasi, kata Idrus, diharapkan dapat meningkat sehingga mampu mendongkrak investasi pemerintah Indonesia yang pada 2024 ditargetkan sebesar Rp1.650 triliun.Perusahaan yang baru saja diresmikan operasinya untuk komersial ini, diperkirakan memiliki cadangan batubara sebesar 293 metrik ton serta sumber daya batu bara mencapai 589 metrik ton.Tambang batu bara bawah tanah yang berlokasi di Sungai Durian, Kotabaru, Kalimantan Selatan, ini terbagi dalam tiga tahap yakni SDE-1, SDE-2 dan SDE-3, ketiganya dirancang dengan kapasitas produksi masing-masing tahap sebesar 10 juta ton batu bara per tahun atau total mencapai 30 juta ton per tahun dengan perkiraan usia tambang mencapai 15 tahun.

Meanwhile, in terms of human resources, the company has absorbed 700 Indonesian workers. Acting Director General of Mineral and Coal of the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (KESDM) Bambang Suswantono today inaugurated the initial production of large-scale underground coal mines in Indonesia. The mine, which is affiliated with the Qinfa Group from China, has an area of 185 square kilometers.
