Sido Muncul Receives Award From Ministry Of Industry

JAKARTA - PT Industri Jamu dan Pharmacy Sido Muncul Tbk (SIDO) received an award from the Ministry of Industry (Kemenperin) in "Resilience and Sustainable Industry". The award was obtained by Sido Muncul for the Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) category of Outer Industrial Estate Companies.

Minister of Industry (Menperin) Agus Gumiwang Kartasasmita said the appreciation was aimed at giving awards to stakeholders for compliance with the implementation of policies in the field of resilience and the industrial business climate as well as in the industrial area sector.

The Minister of Industry hopes that the award recipients can be an inspiration to many parties. Thus, they will be more active in implementing resilience policies and creating an industrial business climate that is responsible for the wider community.

"This award is a form of appreciation for the extraordinary contribution of industry players who have been dedicated to building a strong and sustainable national industry foundation. Hopefully, their success can be a driving force for others to follow in positive footsteps," Agus said, Monday, December 11 after giving the award.

Corporate Secretary of PT Industri Jamu and Pharmacy Sido Muncul Tbk Tiur Simamora expressed his gratitude for achieving this award.

"Sido Muncul is grateful because the awards 1 and 2 are company companies, while we are private," said Tiur.

According to Tiur, his company consistently applies environmental elements, implements ISO 500001 in the field of industrial management, uses renewable energy, solar panels, and biomass. Then use PLN electricity from non-focal even though the tariff is 3 percent more expensive.

"We also calculate the use of water, reducing emissions, socialization, we pay attention to the rights of employees and the community around us," he explained.

In the field of governance, it also continues to improve so that at least it meets the Asean SG Scorecard criteria. This ESG factor is very important especially for Investoa globally.

He hopes that Sido Muncul can win number 1 in the Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) category of Out-of-Industrial Companies in the coming year.

"So, we have to work harder to show Sido Muncul meets the best ESG criteria," said Tiur.

Meanwhile, the appreciation award "Resilience and Sustainable Industry" involves various cross-sector stakeholders from government agencies, non-governmental institutions, experts, and academics at the judging and determining stages of the winner's recommendation.
