BPS: The Value Of Household Consumption In DKI Jakarta Is The Highest In Indonesia

JAKARTA - The Central Statistics Agency (BPS) noted that the average consumption value per household in DKI Jakarta is the highest based on the 2022 Life Cost Survey (SBH), which is with a consumption value of IDR 14.88 million.

"This high consumption value is due to the high cost of living in the city," said Deputy for Distribution and Services Statistics Pudji Ismartini at the 2022 SBH results Socialization event which was monitored virtually in Jakarta, quoted from Antara, Tuesday 12 December.

Pudji said the value of DKI Jakarta's 2022 SBH consumption was recorded to have increased from 2018 which amounted to Rp13.45 million. This increase made the State Capital shift Bekasi as the city with the highest consumption value in 2018 with a value of Rp13.67 million at that time.

The position of DKI Jakarta as a city with the highest consumption value in 2022 was followed by the City of Bekasi with a consumption value of Rp. 14.34 million, the City of Surabaya worth Rp. 13.36 million, Depok City worth Rp. 12.35 million, Makassar City worth Rp. 11.5 million, and Tangerang City worth Rp. 10.96 million.

Then, followed by Bogor City with a consumption value of Rp. 10.73 million, Kendari City worth Rp. 10.23 million, Batam City worth Rp. 10.03 million and Balikpapan City worth Rp. 9.87 million.

He revealed that apart from Bekasi and DKI Jakarta who exchanged positions, the pattern of other city consumption values in SBH 2018 and 2022 in the top 10 rankings among the 90 districts/cities of the Consumer Price Index (IHK) tended to be the same. However, in 2018, Jayapura City had entered the top 10 highest consumption values.

"In 2022 there will be no more Jayapura City, which is seen as the City of Balikpapan," he added.

Meanwhile, Pudji said that there are also 10 areas with the lowest consumption value in 2022, where the area with the lowest consumption value is Cilacap Regency, Central Java, with an average consumption value per household of IDR 5.38 million.

Cilacap's position was followed by Maumere Regency, East Nusa Tenggara (NTT) with a consumption value of IDR 5.53 million, Sibolga City worth IDR 5.69 million, Kudus Regency, Central Java worth IDR 5.71 million, Tegal City worth IDR 5.87 million, and Banyumas Regency, Central Java worth IDR 5.88 million.

Then, the lowest consumption value was in Singaraja Regency, Bali worth IDR 5.98 million, Sumenep Regency, East Java IDR 5.99 million, Jember Regency, East Java worth IDR 6.09 million, and Waingapu Regency, NTT worth IDR 6.15 million.

He conveyed that Waingapu and Jember Regencies in 2018 were not ranked 10 regencies/cities with the lowest consumption value, while the cities of Banyuwangi and Bulukumba, South Sulawesi, which initially entered the rankings, were no longer included in 2022.

"Meanwhile, Cilacap and Sibolga have remained the lowest since 2018 because the cost of living there is cheap," said Pudji.
