Here's The KKP Strategy So That The Implementation Of Five Blue Economy Policies Can Be Implemented

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries (KKP) said, there are a number of strategies that need to be carried out to ensure the implementation of five blue economy policies in the marine and fisheries sector (KP) can be implemented.

First, through increasing synergy with other law enforcement agencies. Second, increasing surveillance facilities.

"Then, improving the quality of human resources and improving data and information-based monitoring technology," said Minister of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries Sakti Wahyu Trenggono in a written statement received by VOI, Tuesday, December 12,

Trenggono said that the cooperation that had been carried out with law enforcement was considered capable of taking action against various violations that occurred in the Indonesian marine and fisheries sector.

"Cooperation and synergy between agencies, starting from the TNI, Polri, Bakamla, the Attorney General's Office, the Ministry of Finance, the Ministry of Transportation, the Ministry of Law and Human Rights, the Ministry of Home Affairs, and other relevant agencies are the keys to the success of supervision and law enforcement in the fields of marine and fisheries," he said.

Later, said Trenggono, the KKP will build Ocean Big Data infrastructure that uses satellite technology systems, radar, sensors, underwater drones, aerial drones and nano-satellite, to optimize integrated surveillance roles in 2024.

In addition, he said that the KKP is also developing an ocean accounting system as an integrated spatial and non-spatial data management capable of providing information on Indonesia's marine wealth and changes in its balance sheet for a certain period due to its interaction with economic activities.

"All data and information will be integrated through the KKP Command Center which can be accessed by law enforcement officers in the context of implementing supervision," he said.

Meanwhile, the Director General of Marine and Fishery Resources Supervision (PSDKP) Adin Nurawaluddin said that in the future, the Marine and Fisheries Supervisory Vessels will be equipped with weapons aimed at providing a determinant effect.

Adin also encouraged local governments to procure transmitters for fishing vessels in their regions so that they could be monitored at the KKP Command Center.

"We also encourage supervision to also be increased within the scope of local governments. Local governments must immediately prepare NSPK, institutions, facilities and infrastructure, human resources, and increase budget allocations for surveillance operations," he added.
