Operated Tariff Free, Indrapura-Five Puluh Toll Road Crossed By Up To 78,000 Vehicles

JAKARTA - PT Hutama Karya (Persero) (Hutama Karya) and PT Hutama Marga Waskita (Hamawas) saw high public interest in crossing the Kuala Tanjung-Tebing Tinggi-Parapat Toll Road, Tebing Tinggi-Indrapura Section and Indrapura-Kisaran Toll Road, Indrapura-Lima Puluh section.

This can be seen from the total Traffic Volume (VLL) until Thursday, November 30, 2023, on the Tebing Tinggi-Indrapura Toll Road reaching 142,744 vehicles and VLLs passing on the Indrapura-Five Pulten Toll Road until Wednesday, December 6, then recorded 171,549 vehicles.

Especially on the Indrapura-Fifty Toll Road, this number is higher than the prediction, which is 78,000 vehicles.

Executive Vice President (EVP) Corporate Secretary Hutama Karya Tjahjo Purnomo said, for the Indrapura-Five Puluh Toll Road itself, almost 7,000 vehicles were passed per day and exceeded the target of 3,000 vehicles per day on the toll road.

The largest contributor to traffic for passing vehicles is the type of logistics vehicle that passes from and to Kuala Tanjung to the production center area. This also shows a fairly high Willingness to Pay (WTP) on the toll road that is operated," said Tjahjo, quoted from the official website of Hutama Karya, Monday, December 11.

Tjahjo said, during this tariffless socialization period, Hutama Karya recorded zero accidents or fatalities that occurred and no significant violations or complaints were found from toll road users.

Hutama Karya has also carried out massive socialization on various communication channels, both on social media, outdoor media and conventional media.

In addition, this toll road is also not the first in North Sumatra, so the people are quite used to it.

"We hope that the decree (SK) on tariff determination can be issued soon so that the two sections can immediately determine the tariff," he said.

One of the toll road users, namely Audy Hasibuan, also felt the positive impact of the operation of the two toll roads.

He admitted, with the toll road, many travel times were cut so that they arrived at their destination faster.

"Incidentally, many of my relatives are in the Limapuluh area there, so now it's faster since the opening of the Tebing Tinggi-Indrapura and Indrapura-Five Puluh Toll Roads. Previously it could have been more than 1.5 hours, now it's only 20 minutes," he said.
