Realization Of BPBL In Banjarnegara Reaches 100 Percent

The Directorate General of Electricity (Ditjen Gatrik) of the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) has completed the realization of the Electricity New Installation Assistance (BPBL) program in Banjarnegara Regency, Central Java Province, which is spread over 19 sub-districts.

Just so you know, BPBL is one of the government's efforts to increase the electrification ratio as well as carry out the role of the state to be present in the community so that they can enjoy access to electricity.

"The target of 1,074 electrical connections in Banjarnegara has been fully turned on 100 percent," said the Coordinator of Electricity Standardization, Directorate General of Gatric at the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources Hanat Hamidi at the Inauguration and First Implementation of the BPBL Program in Banjarnegara, Wednesday, December 6.

The BPBL program, he said, would increase the number of PT customers. PLN (Persero) and is expected to reduce network links as a result of the withdrawal of illegal connections from neighbors that do not comply with the provisions.

"The electricity connection that is not in accordance with the rules of electricity safety is certainly very dangerous. Because electricity is not useful but also dangerous," he explained.

In line with this, Member of Commission VII DPR RI Rofik Hananto also mentioned that the safety of electricity in electrical installations in households is something that cannot be underestimated, because the potential danger that arises will cause great losses.

"In Banjarnegara, we still often see houses not electricityed independently, still connecting to neighbors or relatives. This is clearly not like an operation and is dangerous for the safety of residents," he said.

He hopes that this BPBL program will reduce the withdrawal of illegal electricity connections and he will also appreciate the performance of all relevant parties in realizing BPBL, both the central and regional governments, as well as the local Regional Government Coordination Forum (Forkopimda) so that the BPBL Program runs well and is accepted by the community for free.

"We make sure to all beneficiaries that this program does not cost a penny. If people encounter someone who charges, report it to us. God willing, we will help," said Rofik.

On the same occasion, the Development Economic Assistant for Banjarnegara Regency, Riatmojo Ponco Nugroho, emphasized more about the potential for business opportunities to emerge due to the BPBL program.

"This program is to create a better community, especially if electricity has become a basic need, it can be used not only for lighting but also for productive activities and can improve the economy of the people of Banjarnegara," said Ponco.

Similarly, Expert Staff of the Director of Retail and Commerce at PT PLN (Persero) Chairuddin hopes that the BPBL Program can improve the community's economy.

According to him, the mandate in the Presidential Regulation on the Acceleration of Poverty Reduction is included in preparing the availability and adequacy of energy for underprivileged families.

"Hopefully with the BPBL program, extreme poverty rates will decrease and PLN can continue to provide easy services," said Chairuddin.

In addition to increasing the electrification ratio, the BPBL program is also expected to improve people's standard of living and independence.

By having access to electricity itself, it is hoped that the BPBL beneficiaries will no longer depend on the electricity supply from neighbors.

The recipients of the BPBL program will receive electrical installations for houses in the form of 3 lights and 1 contact box, inspection, installation testing, issuance of Operational LIKE Certificates (SLO), as well as connecting to PLN and initial electricity tokens.
