PT ASDP Indonesia Ferry (Persero) uses geofencing technology to anticipate vehicle congestion in the port area during Christmas 2023 and New Year 2024 (Nataru) transportation.

ASDP President Director Ira Puspadewi explained that this geofencing technology is something that ASDP has just implemented in the implementation of Nataru 2024 transportation.

This geofencing technology works to limit prospective passengers with vehicles to buy tickets online within a radius close to the port.

However, said Ira, prospective passengers who do not carry a vehicle or pedestrians can still buy tickets with a radius near the port.

Ira explained, how the geofencing system works is that prospective passengers who will order tickets online must activate the GPS location.

Therefore, ticket bookings cannot be made near the port.
