JAKARTA - The Australian Capital Authority (OIKN) emphasized that IKN development is perpendicular to the law. This is as stated in Law Number 21 of 2023 amendments to Law Number 3 of 2022 concerning the State Capital.
"If you say where is the direction of this IKN, we emphasize that this OIKN is perpendicular to the IKN Law that has been formulated," said Deputy for Funding and Investment at OIKN Agung Wicaksono in the IKN Investment Opportunities Roadshow monitored online in Jakarta, Friday, December 1.
Agung assessed that the revision of Law Number 3 of 2022 which was just passed about 1 month ago made it clearer the realization of IKN development.
"We have the IKN Law Number 3 of 2020 passed last year, but this year only last month a revision of the law was ratified, which did not change so it became unclear that it would change to strengthen and clarify it," he said.
He emphasized that at that time all factions in the DPR RI had agreed to revise the regulation.
"We are grateful that at that time it was really supported by almost all factions in the DPR. So, Law Number 21 of 2023 which was just passed on November 1, is very strong. So, today is 1 month exactly," said Agung.
Later, said Agung, the law will have more derivative regulations, so that it will further clarify the realization of the new capital city.
"Then, all of this must go down again because the implementation regulations are needed at the OIKN level, namely the OIKN head regulation which is being formulated and prepared, as well as the regulation of the minister of finance (PMK)," he said.
Because, he continued, the development of IKN itself does not only involve the government, but also the private sector and the community. Thus, it needs to be strengthened in the law.
"This IKN is built with the contribution of the community and private investment. This is a community that contributes and plays a role in realizing the nation's ideals, of course the government must protect it, the government must create policies that make it easier," said Agung.
"And of course we collaborate with the Ministry of Finance, BKPM, and also many other ministries/agencies that are needed. We both realize this and once again uphold the law and constitution," he said.

Previously, presidential candidate (candidate) Anies Baswedan said that the relocation of the Nusantara Capital (IKN) project would lead to new inequality.
"When the goal of building a new city and a new capital city is to equalize, it does not produce a new equitable, why? Because it will produce a new city that is unequal with the surrounding areas," Anies replied, quoted from Kompas TV's YouTube, Thursday, November 24.
According to Anies, equitable development in Indonesia must be carried out targeting small cities to become medium and medium into big cities.
"Jadi antara tujuan mau memeratakan Indonesia tidak, kalau mau memeratakan Indonesia maka bangun kota kecil jadi menengah, kota menengah menjadi besar di seluruh wilayah Indonesia, bukan hanya membangun satu kota di tengah-hubunan," terang Anies.
