Operational Train Plus, Jabodebek LRT Headway Back 7 Minutes

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Transportation (Kemenhub) has added four series of trains or trainsets for the Jabodebek LRT that operate. With the addition of this operating train, the waiting time between train arrivals or headways can be shortened back to 7 minutes.

Director General of Railways of the Ministry of Transportation Risal Wasal said the trainsets that accompany Jabodebek LRT passengers per day are 16 series. This number increased by 4 trainsets from the total number previously operated, namely 12 series.

Risal emphasized that gradually the increase in the number of train series will be carried out until the Jabodebek LRT will operate 27 trainsets in full.

"The addition of this series is intended so that the waiting time (headway) can be shortened to 7-15 minutes at once to anticipate a surge in passengers during this holiday season," said Risal in an official statement, Friday, December 1.

In addition to adding a trainset, the Ministry of Transportation has also officially implemented the latest promo tariff scheme starting today. Risal said, this tariff promo was given to encourage the public to take advantage of the Jabodebek LRT in traveling during the holiday period at the end of this year.

In detail, the LRT tariff on weekdays Monday to Friday during peak hour is IDR 3,000 for the first 1 km and the maximum is IDR 20,000. The busy period is set at 06.00 to 08.59 WIB and from 16.00 to 18.59 WIB.

Meanwhile, the non-busy hour rate or off peak hour on weekdays Monday to Friday is set at IDR 3,000 for the first 1 km and a maximum of IDR 10,000.

The time of non-busy hours on weekdays is set at the start of operating hours until 05.59 WIB, then at 09.00 to 15.59 WIB, and at 19.00 to the end of operating hours.

"Meanwhile, the tariff on Saturdays, Sundays and national holidays is IDR 3,000 for the first 1 km and a maximum of IDR 10,000," he said.
