Hippindo Collaborates With Kemenkop UKM To Hold An Electric Motor Parade, This Is The Goal

The Indonesian Shopping Center Retailers and Tenants Association (Hippindo) collaborated with the Ministry of Cooperatives and SMEs (Kemenkop UKM) to hold an Indonesian electric motorcycle parade in Gambir area, Central Jakarta, today.

This parade is a series of Inabuyer EV EXPO 2023 activities which will be held at Smesco, Jakarta, on November 28-30.

Chairman of Hippindo Budihardjo Iduansjah admitted, as a retail association, they have employees who use motorbikes every day.

According to him, with this parade, his party wants to reduce air pollution while improving employee welfare.

"By turning to electric motorcycles, employees can save up to IDR 400,000-IDR 500,000 per month," Budihardjo said in his remarks at the Kemenkop UKM Building, Jakarta, Sunday, November 19.

He hopes that the Kemenkop UKM can cooperate with its workshops and ecosystems to optimize this benefit, especially to support Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs).

"This collaboration is expected to have a positive impact on the environment, employee welfare, and economic growth of SMEs in Indonesia," said Budihardjo.

Meanwhile, Deputy for Cooperatives of the Kemenkop UKM Ahmad Zabadi said this parade was a means to involve conversion workshops, especially in the Jabodetabek area to show the potential and sophistication of the conversion results of electric motorcycles.

So, it can stimulate people's interest to switch to environmentally friendly vehicles by presenting more choices of innovative and affordable electric motorcycles.

"This step is in line with the government's vision in accelerating the adoption of battery-based vehicles and realizing the sustainable development of a green economy ecosystem," he said.

According to him, the parade of Indonesian electric motorcycles can create an optimistic picture of the future of mobility in the country, and awareness of sustainability will not only be a discourse in the future.

The positive impacts produced will also be realized in empowering local industries, as well as communities that can spur innovation in the industrial sector and create new opportunities for companies.

"So that it can increase exports for electric motorcycles and their supporting ecosystems," he explained.

For your information, this parade is also supported by a number of parties, ranging from the Indonesian Electric Motorcycle Community (Kosmic Community), the Gojek Driver Community, and the Elderers.

With the joining of these communities, parades are expected to be more representative of various levels of society. A number of local brands that participated in enlivening this parade, such as Alva, BRT, E-nine, Yadea, Selis, Volta, United, SMEV, and Smoot.
