DPM-PTSP Admits Company-Owned Coal Shelter In Jambi Has Permission

JAKARTA - The Jambi Province Investment and One Stop Integrated Service (DPM-PTSP) admitted that the location of a coal storage or stockpile owned by one of the companies in Jambi City had an official permit issued in 2016.

"The location permit has been issued since 2016 by the local government, while other permits were immediately issued by the center," said Head of DPM-PTSP Donny Iskandar quoting Antara.

This is because, he said, licensing this location is the basis for taking care of other permits. This location permit covers the location from the mouth of the mine to the port which was protested by residents of Aur Kenali Village, Telanipura District, Jambi City by closing the location of the'stockpile'.

Donny added that the company has also followed all the specified licensing processes, while this public complaint has been submitted to the Governor of Jambi which contains five complaints.

DLH has also explained that the requirement for the capital for the coal company is to fulfill five points of residents' complaints.

Then the Jambi DPM-PTSP also admitted that coal mining companies whose investments are from outside or foreign, there is no governor's authority in it.

This is the authority of the center, he said, but they first started going to Jambi to apply for a location permit which is a requirement to take care of other permits such as environmental permits, space suitability approval, and other permits that are all fulfilled by the company.

"The permit is still valid for the next two years," he said.

Regarding communication issues, Donny also asked the Jambi Provincial Environment Agency (DLH) to help with the communication issue that was cut off so that it was conveyed to the public or local residents who protested the existence of the'stockpile'.

"However, if the company violates existing regulations, the permit will be revoked by the central government through a request from the governor," said Donny Iskandar.

Previously, hundreds of residents from several RTs rejected the construction of coal shelters carried out by PT Sinar Anugrah Sukses (SAS).

During the residents' protest by installing the rejection billboard, there were no representatives from the company who were at this location.

Meanwhile, the Head of the Citizens' Forum, Kenali Syarif (55), said that the public did not want a negative effect on the presence of this'stokpile' because the surrounding residents were living comfortably and safely.

Meanwhile, Sukiman (55), one of the community leaders in RT 03, Aur Kenali Village, has submitted a letter to all parties but there has been no response from PT SAS.

"We residents ask for a review of the existence of this stockpile as well as roads, because the company said the road around the stockpile would be on the asphalt but so far it has not been realized," he said.
