Bahlil: Xinyi Group Investment In Rempang Has No Obstacles, It Only Takes Time

JAKARTA - Investment Minister Bahlil Lahadlia ensured that Xinyi Group's investment plan to build a glass industry ecosystem in Rempang, Batam, Riau Islands, will continue and have no problems.

For your information, the Xinyi Group, in this case Xinyi Glass Holdings Ltd, is one of the investors who will set up a glass factory on Rempang Island with an investment value of IDR 175 trillion. The Xinyi Group itself is a partner of PT Makmur Elok Graha (MEG).

Even so, said Bahlil, the inclusion of the Xinyi Group investment took post-conflict time that occurred in Rempang some time ago.

"He (Xinyi Gorup) invests no problem. It only takes time," he said when met in Jakarta, Wednesday, October 25.

Bahlil also said that the government has a target to groundbreaking. "I have a target, but I can't go public," he explained.

Furthermore, Bahlil also revealed that out of a total of 900 families (KK), 500 of them were willing to be relocated voluntarily.

"Alhamdulillah, I went down there on the orders of the President. Alhamdulillah, from 900 families, who were ready to relocate voluntarily, almost 500 families, and almost 100 families are now in their place of relocation," he said.

"So, this investment is not easy. Let alone large investments, it's hard to build wholesale. especially competitions with other countries," he continued.

As previously reported, Bahlil said that his party had coordinated with the Xinyi Group regarding the continuation of investment on Pulau Rempang, Batam, Riau Islands.

According to Bahlil, Xinyi understands the current conditions in the region.

In fact, continued Bahlil, this Chinese company also wants the conflict in Rempang, Batam, Riau Islands, to be completed properly and not drag on.

"God willing, they want to understand. Because my representatives before my meeting called, God willing, they understand. They think that they can solve it together well and if they can, they hope to be faster. That's much better," he said in a working meeting with Commission VI of the DPR, Jakarta, Monday, October 2.
