JAKARTA - The Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR) has launched a new feature of the e-BMN application in the form of a State Property barcode (BMN) which is a tool to secure state assets belonging to the Ministry of PUPR.

The launch was carried out by the Inspector General (Irjen) of the Ministry of PUPR T Iskandar together with the Secretary General (Sekjen) of the Ministry of PUPR Mohammad Zainal Fatah and the Head of the Bureau of State Property Management Darwanto at the BMN Management Working Meeting (Raker) of the Ministry of PUPR in 2023 at the Auditorium of the Ministry of PUPR, Jakarta, on Tuesday, October 24.

Iskandar said, one of the benchmarks in realizing the improvement in asset management quality is through improving BMN governance, which is reflected in the BMN Management Performance Indicator/Asset Management Index (IPA).

"For this reason, e-BMN must be managed properly with updated monitoring and control on a regular basis, at least every week," said Inspector General of the Ministry of PUPR T Iskandar in a press release received by VOI, Wednesday, October 25.

Iskandar said that securing state assets was part of one of the surveillance policies at the PUPR Ministry, namely escorting BMN's administration.

"The focus is on overseeing infrastructure management and improving the quality of good governance," he said.

On the same occasion, the Secretary General of the Ministry of PUPR, Mohammad Zainal Fatah, said that the use of technology such as e-BMN is a must to transform towards better and smarter work (smart).

"It is not easy to migrate from working through paper sheets to digitization. In the future, we will not only make an inventory, but to how to provide more benefits to existing BMN," he said.

Zainal said the barcode feature would provide information on BMN identity, proof of ownership, location of BMN, and other information, thus providing information to the public to prevent control by other parties.

"This is also in line with the policies being implemented by the National Land Agency and the Directorate General of State Assets of the Ministry of Finance," he added.

Meanwhile, Head of State Property Management Bureau Darwanto said the new feature could be accessed by the public by scanning/scans on the barcode via google lans on mobile devices.

"This feature can be downloaded on the e-BMN system and the barcode will be installed on the BMN ownership board/plang," he concluded.
