Apindo Regarding The 2024 Presidential Election: It Is Hoped That It Can Improve Economic Policy From Previous Governments

JAKARTA - Chairman of the Indonesian Employers' Association (Apindo) Shinta Widjaja Kamdani hopes that the presidential candidate (candidate) elected in 2024 can continue various economic policies that have been implemented by the previous government.

Moreover, he said, Apindo itself is currently preparing a roadmap for economic policies that will be submitted to each presidential candidate as a recommendation for the preparation of economic programs in the new government era.

"In principle, if we look at the vision and mission of all, the direction is the same as reaching Indonesia Gold 2045. Therefore, Apindo is ready for the roadmap so they know, here, what has been going on and what must be improved," Shinta said after being met at the US-Indonesia Investment Summit 2023 event at the Mandarin Oriental Hotel Jakarta, Tuesday, October 24.

Shinta said the three presidential candidates had good thoughts about the sustainability of the world of entrepreneurs.

It's just that, said Shinta, his party wants to provide input so that later the elected presidential candidate can find out the conditions on the ground directly.

That way, he continued, programs or policies that will be implemented during the government period can have a good impact, especially among entrepreneurs.

"When it comes to business continuity, the three of them are safe. But, overall (not yet known) what kind. Well, with the existing roadmaps we provide input so that specifically (the presidential candidates) know the conditions in the field. So, what policies (policy) must be changed and which ones are in line," he said.

Shinta believes that the three existing presidential candidates will be able to continue the government program of Joko Widodo (Jokowi) in the future.

"I think the three of them (are able)," he concluded.

For your information, until now, there have been two presidential candidates (candidates) and two vice presidential candidates (cawapres) in 2024 who have registered with the General Elections Commission (KPU).

The pair Anies Baswedan-Muhaimin Iskandar alias Cak Imin (AMIN) became the first pair to register at the KPU as a presidential candidate (candidate) and vice president (cawapres) 2024 on Thursday, October 19, 2024.

Then, there are the pairs Ganjar Pranowo and Mahfud MD who also officially register as presidential and vice presidential candidates ahead of the 2024 General Election.

Most recently, there was Prabowo Subianto who had just declared himself with Gibran Rakabuming Raka as a pair of presidential and vice presidential candidates for the 2024 presidential election on Sunday night, October 22, 2023.
