JAKARTA - The Directorate General of State Assets (DJKN) and the State Asset Management Institute (LMAN) as well as experts discussed optimizing the use of state assets in Jakarta. This was after the move of the country's capital from Jakarta to East Kalimantan.
"Regarding the move to the nation's capital, we are looking at whether the central government's assets, which are State-owned Enterprises (BUMN), are actually significant enough to help consolidate larger interests," said Director General of State Assets at the Ministry of Finance, Rionald Silaban, in a virtual monitored seminar in Jakarta, Monday.
In the international seminar on National Wealth Day on Reimagining Jakarta Future, Rionald said that there are many assets of state-owned enterprises (BUMN) in Jakarta, and these assets are vulnerable to occupation by irresponsible parties, so a strategy is needed to overcome this problem.
"In Jakarta, there are a lot of BUMN assets. Unfortunately, these BUMN assets can be occupied and it is difficult for us to control them, and of course not only the DJKN but also all parties must control them," he said.
He hopes that the discussion can produce the best ideas and thoughts to further optimize the value or impact of the use of state assets in Jakarta as well as help the DKI Jakarta Government carry out reconfiguration when necessary after moving the state capital.
"Discussions like this are not just one time, they will continue over and over again because we continue to try to find the best answer to what we should do in order to move the capital city," he said.
Through these seminars and discussions, it is also hoped that ideas can be obtained regarding how to help Jakarta and its people to overcome the significant social, economic and environmental changes resulting from the relocation of the country's capital.
"And at the same time we are also trying to see whether the move and when and for how long the move will have a significant social and economic impact," he said.

It is also hoped that the seminar and discussion will provide ideas and thoughts to support Jakarta in continuing to encourage its growth after the center of government moves from Jakarta to the capital of the archipelago.
"What we want from the resource persons and also friends who took part in the discussion is what are the best ideas that we can express in order to help see Jakarta after the move of the nation's capital," he said.
Meanwhile, the Main Director of the State Asset Management Institute (LMAN) Basuki Purwadi hopes that the process of moving the abandoned capital cities of the archipelago and Jakarta will run smoothly.
"I hope that we can all share knowledge and share information from sources and can discuss learning with each other so that we can apply it in the future," he said.
