Lombok Airport Serves 49,344 Passengers During The 2023 Mandalika MotoGP

PT Angkasa Pura I (AP1) noted that Lombok Airport had served 49,344 passenger movements during the 2023 MotoGP Grand Prix of Indonesia series in Mandalika, West Nusa Tenggara (NTB).

For your information, the MotoGP Grand Prix of Indonesia 2023 series itself was held at the Mandalika Circuit on October 13-15.

AP1 President Director Faik Fahmi said the passenger movement was an accumulation of flight periods 11-16 October, with a daily average of 8,224 passengers per day, or 23 percent higher than the daily average of passengers in October 2023, which was 6,698 passengers per day.

"Thank God, the MotoGP series for the 2023 Grand Prix of Indonesia went smoothly and successfully. As part of the supporting ecosystem, AP1 through Lombok Airport has played a role in passenger services and logistics of participating teams during the preparation period, championship H day, to after event," he said in Jakarta, Tuesday, October 17.

In addition, said Faik, AP1 also noted that 560 aircraft movements were also served in the period 11-16 October. Faik said that the peak of passenger arrival flow at Lombok Airport occurred on Friday, October 13 with a total of 8,819 passengers, with 5,300 passengers arriving in Lombok.

Meanwhile, the peak of the passenger's departure flow occurred on Monday, October 16 with a total of 10,351 passengers, with 6,571 passengers departing from Lombok.

The departure of the racer, crew and team officials took place on Monday 16 October using two flights, namely Garuda Indonesia GA7080 which departed at 10.35 WITA, as well as Malaysia Airlines MH8457 which took off at 12:29 WITA. The two flights departed for Melbourne, Australia, to take part in the next series which will be held at the Phillip Island Circuit on October 20-22.

"The MotoGP event at the Mandalika Circuit is a very extraordinary attraction, thus creating a multiplier effect on increasing the number of passengers at Lombok Airport," said Faik.

In addition to passenger services, Faik said AP1 through its subsidiary, Angkasa Pura Logistik (APL) also plays an important role in the logistics services of the championship participating teams. APL will also serve the loading and clearance process of cargo logistics which will depart for its next destination.

Furthermore, Faik said cargo flight departures are scheduled to begin on Tuesday 17 October with 2 flights to Melbourne, as well as on Wednesday 18 October with 2 flights to Melbourne and 1 flight to Kuala Lumpur.
