Sido Muncul Holds Free Cleft Lip Surgery At Hermina Hospital Bogor

JAKARTA - Recently, PT Industri Jamu and Pharmacy Sido Muncul Tbk (SIDO) held a free lipbing operation. The activity, which was held on Friday, October 6, collaborated with Smile Train Indonesia and Hermina Hospital Bogor.

Director of Sido Muncul Irwan Hidayat said the lip surgery was given to 50 patients covering the Bogor area, West Java.

"Cleft lip operation of 50 patients at Hermina Hospital. Since 2018 we have had lip surgery with 452 and 50 who are now together with Hermina," said Irwan.

Furthermore, said Irwan, since the last few years his party has focused on helping the Indonesian people to treat a number of diseases. Starting from cataract surgery, cleft lip, to assistance to stunting sufferers.

He admitted that he understood the feelings of parents who knew their child was born with imperfect lips. For this reason, Sido Muncul wants to help ease the burden.

"Since last year we have started to seriously enter after the cataracts, the important lip of the cleft lip, especially since the cleft lip is not financed by BPJS. So, hopefully, what we are assisting Sido Muncul can be useful," explained Irwan.

Meanwhile, the President Director of Hermina Hospital, dr. Muyi Ayoe Hapsari said she hoped that the humanitarian activities from Sido Muncul in the form of free cleft lip surgery would continue.

"This year there are 50, until the future the hope is to continue what is the help of the cleft lip," said Ayoe.

In line with Ayoe, Director of Smile Train Indonesia, Deasy Larasati, said that his party was grateful that Sido Muncul was a donor for lip surgery. According to him, in Asia, one of the 700 births must be a lip-scap sufferer.

For in Indonesia, babies born with cleft lip can reach up to seven to eight thousand per year.

"This is our focus, we are very grateful that Sido Muncul was supported as Pak Irwan said, the baby who was born with cleft lip has a high risk of death," explained Deasy.

Meanwhile, the total aid fund for this activity is IDR 325 million. Sido Muncul also gave gifts to each patient and parent.
