What Is The Pegadaian TGSC Program That Will Give Birth To Young Entrepreneurs?

YOGYAKARTA PT Pegadaian collaborated with the Indonesian Islamic Economic Expert Association (IAEI) to launch a youth social entrepreneurship strengthening program, The Sociopreneurship Challenge (TGSC). The launch of this program was carried out at the Sebelas Maret State University (UNS) Surakarta, Central Java on Monday, October 9, 2023. So, what is the TGSC Pegadaian program?

Director of Operations and Sales Network of PT Pegadaian Eka Pebriansyah said, TGSC is one of PT Pegadaian's Social and Environmental Responsibility (TJSL) programs in Pilar the Gade Generation which focuses on young generation education.

"TGSC is a forum for incubation of youth in creating social benefits through social entrepreneurs," said Eka, quoted from Antara, Wednesday, October 11, 2023.

Eka said, the TGSC Pegadaian program is a social startup competition for all Indonesian remnants. Through this competition, the participants are encouraged to become sociopreneurs through innovation of the business model that has been created.

He added that the innovation was born from the observations of participants on the problems and social needs that exist in their environment.

"The participants are encouraged to see various problems and social needs as opportunities to empower and create sustainable impacts for the community," said Eka.

"Through the TGSC program, we are trying to encourage the spirit of sociopreneurship of students by providing support to three things, namely assistance and business maturation through mentoring and networking, as well as financial access support when participants need capital for their business," said Eka again.

Meanwhile, the Head of the Social Entrepreneurship and Community Empowerment Development Division of the IAEI DPP as well as the Director of Digital Business of Telkom Indonesia Muhammad Fajrin Rasyid said that the social entrepreneur was a bridge between social and entrepreneur.

Socialpreneurs try to integrate social elements with businesses, thus producing social value and doing business as well.

"We also have to make sure whether the product answers the problem or not," explained Fajrin.

According to Fajrin, a businessman must think about what products or services are needed by the community, including his business model.

Head of the Social and Environmental Responsibility Division (TJSL) of PT Pegadaian Rully Yusuf said the social business competition in TGSC carries the entrepreneurial concept by paying attention to environmental sustainability.

Through this program, participants are encouraged not only to seek financial benefits, but also to be encouraged to have a positive impact on the surrounding environment.

"Hopefully the TGSC that was built can be useful for optimizing the birth of young entrepreneurs, who are sensitive to social problems in the vicinity," said Rully.

After launching the TGSC program, PT Pegadaian will hold a roadshow titled TGSC Goes to Campus to 10 universities spread across various regions in Indonesia.

With this roadshow, it is hoped that Pegadaian's TGSC program can attract many sociopreneurs from among students. Pegadaian's TGSC program opens from 2-111 November 2023.
