JAKARTA – PT Garuda Indonesia (Persero) Tbk (GIAA) has reopened the Surabaya-Jeddah PP flight route today, Monday 11 September.

The flights to the Holy Land from Surabaya are served using the A330-900 fleet via the Surabaya - Jeddah pp flight route.

"Through the availability of this flight route from Surabaya to Jeddah, it is hoped that it will be able to be an added value for the people of the East Java region, especially in terms of ease of access to the airport which is more time efficient, including for the duration of the trip to the Holy Land without having to transit in another city which requires more time. long," said Garuda Indonesia President Director Irfaniaputra in a statement to the media, Monday, September 11.

Irfan added that the city of Surabaya and its surroundings have opportunities for a wide market share to be optimized amidst the increasing demand among Muslim communities in Indonesia to undertake spiritual journeys, both Umrah and Hajj.

"Reflecting on last year where East Java Province was the second province with the most Umrah pilgrims in Indonesia, we hope that Garuda Indonesia can maximally fulfill the need for air connectivity which will certainly increase in the coming years through the readiness of safe and operational flight services. comfortable," explained Irfan.

In the future, this Surabaya - Jeddah return flight will be served twice per week, namely every Monday and Thursday using a wide-body Airbus 330-900neo aircraft which has a capacity of 295 passengers.

The Surabaya-Jeddah flight served by GA984 departs from Juanda International Airport at 07.50 a.m. Western Indonesian Time (WIB) and arrives at King Abdulaziz International Airport, Jeddah at 14.25 LT. Meanwhile, the Jeddah-Surabaya flight is served by GA985 and departs from King Abdulaziz international airport at 16.30 LT and arrives in Surabaya the next day at 10.20 a.m. WIB.
