Rehabilitation Of The UIN Mahmud Yunus Building In West Sumatra Is Speeded Up At The End Of October

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR) has rehabilitated the Faculty of Sharia, Faculty of State Islamic University (UIN) Mahmud Yunus Batusangkar, Tanah Datar Regency, West Sumatra.

This rehabilitation is in order to support the development of the Batusangkar UIN campus as a higher education institution.

"We are continuing the construction of educational facilities to support improving the quality of human resources. Take advantage of the facilities that have been built. The next generation must be smarter because the facilities are better," said PUPR Minister Basuki Hadimuljono in a written statement, on Tuesday, August 29.

Basuki said that the rehabilitation of educational facilities was an instruction from President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) to the Ministry of PUPR to accelerate the construction and rehabilitation of schools, madrasas, and continued construction in State Universities (PTN)/PTKIN throughout Indonesia.

Meanwhile, Head of the West Sumatra Regional Settlement Infrastructure Center (BPPW) Kusworo Darpito said the rehabilitation of the UIN Batusangar Islamic Faculty Building was the support of the Ministry of PUPR to continue the building structure that was built by UIN Batusangkar in 2018 and had been suspended for a long time.

"The Ministry of PUPR through the West Sumatra Regional Settlement Infrastructure Center (BPPW) of the Directorate General of Human Settlements will continue construction on February 1, 2023, in accordance with the contract with the 2023 State Budget budget," said Kusworo.

Kusworo said that currently the construction progress has reached 51 percent and is targeted to be completely completed by the end of October 2023.

"Currently, it is just a matter of completing the installation of water pumps, generators, and a number of electrical mechanical work including the installation of air conditioning," he said.

The scope of the work carried out includes evaluation of planning, structure, architecture, mechanics and electrical to site development, one of which is improving the structure of the disabled lane and improving building safety standards, as well as building construction. Construction work is carried out by the Contractor of PT Global Mandiri Service with a contract value of Rp20.8 billion.

The Faculty of Syariah UIN Batusangkar building is built as high as 3 floors and 1 rooftop floor which has 26 classrooms and also office rooms for the dean's room, lecture room, and student activity room.
