Pertamina Hulu Energi Records MBOPD 570,000 Oil Production In Semester I-2023

PT Pertamina Hulu Energi (PHE) recorded oil production of 570,000 barrels per day (MBOPD) & gas production of 2,757 million standard cubic feet per day (MMSCFD) throughout the first semester of 2023. With demilian, FE managed to produce oil and gas of 1046 thousand barrels of oil equivalent per day (MBOEPD) or an 8 percent increase from last year.

PHE Corporate Secretary Arya Dwi Paramita said this achievement was supported by the completion of the drilling work plan for 7 exploration wells, 359 development wells, 371 workovers and 16,286 well services.

"In addition, PHE also recorded a 478 km2 3D Seismic survey," he said, quoted on Wednesday, August 9.

Arya added, until now, PHE has succeeded in making strategic achievements, including obtaining an exploration WK award with the majority of gas resources in Peri Mahakam & Bunga located in eastern Indonesia, East Natuna in the border area of the Indonesia-Malaysia-Vietnam country and the national strategic project of Masela.

The discovery of gas exploration in Wilela, Wolai complex and Tentau 1-X also supports a new round of energy security and national gas transitions in the future.

One of the strategic projects that has also been worked on is the drilling of Non Conventional Oil and Gas (MNK) wells located in Gulamo Field, Tanah Putih District, Rokan Hilir Regency, Riau at the end of July 2023.

Through the International Region which was headed by PT Pertamina Internasional EP, Pertamina's Upstream Subholding has also just succeeded in obtaining a new contract extension at Menzel Lejmat Nord (MLN), Block 405 in Algeria. This oil and gas block has a permit to build an LPG factory with a capacity of 1 million metric tons per year whose production can be brought to Indonesia as a commitment of the company in fulfilling national energy.

This achievement is based on PHE's main strategy in managing production baselines, increasing production growth through work plans and merger & acquisitions and increasing revenue & resource growth by always prioritizing aspects of HSSE and Environmental, Social, Governance (ESG).

Fadjar Djoko Santoro, Vice President of Corporate Communication of PT Pertamina (Persero) added, Pertamina appreciates PHE's efforts to achieve the oil and gas production target. The increase in production in the first semester of 2023 compared to the previous year reflects that PHE's operational efforts were quite effective.

"We hope that PHE as Pertamina's Upstream Subholding will continue to increase exploration to support the achievement of the target of 1 million barrels per day, as well as expand to improve its business, as well as run ESG aspects to achieve sustainable companies," Fadjar said.
