JAKARTA - PT Pertamina Patra Niaga guarantees infrastructure readiness for the latest products currently in development, namely Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF).
Director of Marketing Center & Niaga, Maya Kusmaya explained, although it is still in the trial series stage, Pertamina Patra Niaga is committed to fully supporting SAF development, which is a collaboration between the Directorate General of EBTKE of the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources, Ministry of Transportation, ITB, APROBI, BPDPKS, LEMIGAS, BRIN, Garuda Indonesia and Garuda Maintenance Facility, as well as Pertamina Group, namely Pertamina through Research & Technology Innovation (RTI), Pertamina International Refinery (KPI), and Pertamina Patra Niaga.
"Responsible on the downstream side, we continue to prepare the sarfas and competence of the Pertamina Patra Niaga team to distribute SAF as a better aviation fuel innovation for the aviation industry," Maya explained, quoted on Friday, August 4.
Maya added that Pertamina's support was carried out through the receipt of around 80 thousand liters at Soekarno Hatta Aviation Fuel Terminal & Hydrant Installation (SHIFTHI) from Cilacap.
The initial target, the SAF received will be used for a series of tests, the last one being for the static test needs carried out on the CFM56-7B jet engine which is usually used on commercial aircraft at the GMF Aeroasia Test Cell facility of 25 thousand liters.
Maya continued, the SAF static test showed good results, where there were no significant differences in the engine response with the results of the Jet-A1 aviation fuel test which had been distributed by Pertamina Patra Niaga.

"This means that the quality of SAF when viewed from the static test is quite similar, so it can be continued to the next test, starting from the Ground Test to the Flight Test. This is the latest milestone in SAF development considering previous testing was only on military aircraft, we will start moving for commercial aircraft, and we are ready to provide SAF for the entire series of tests," he explained.
Maya continued that the distribution of SAF has also been included in the world agenda, where several airports in the world and airlines have used SAF.
"The step of distributing SAF is Pertamina Patra Niaga's step to provide better aviation fuel for the needs of the aviation industry in Indonesia," Maya said.
