Make Sure It's Safe, Pertamina Ensures 3 Kg Elpiji Stock Reaches 15 Days

JAKARTA - PT Pertamina (Persero) ensures that the stock of 3 kilogram LPG gas cylinders is at a safe limit. Director of Logistics and Infrastructure of PT Pertamina (Persero) Alfian Nasution revealed that Pertamina ensures that gas stocks are maintained in the range of 14 to 15 days.

"Basically the LPG stock is around 14 days and this is quite safe. Our proposal until the end of the year we will keep the stock in the range of 14-15 days," he said in an online press conference, Thursday, August 3.

Alfian added that the supply of LPG in July was slightly above sales in July, which was 700,000 metric tons, while sales in June were 650,000 MT or 5 percent.

"So the supply we made in July was basically above June. We added about 5 percent last July," added Alfian.

He continued, this stock resilience will continue to be carried out both by increasing domestic and imported production. In this way, he believes he can hold the LPG stock in the position of 14 to 15 days.

Present on the same occasion, President Director of PT Pertamina Patra Niaga Riva Siahaan said that his party had prepared 46 LPG terminals spread across Indonesian territory, 699 LPG stations or SPBE and 5,200 agents spread across areas that consumed 3 kilograms of LPG, namely from Sumatera and Sulawesi.

"We have also prepared 244,000 3 kg LPG bases where this number is, we continue to strive to increase the number of bases in relation to reach the community even further and make it easier for people to get LPG," he said.

Regarding the issue of the delay in the distribution of 3 kg LPG, Riva admitted that his party had made visits and inspections to the location of scarcity and found that there was an increasing trend of demand caused by several national holidays. However, he said that his party had coordinated with all regions to be able to make measurable supplies and still referred to the quota set by the government.

"We ensure that there are no disturbances in the distribution of LPG 3kg and we will continue to ensure this," concluded Riva.
